Sophia writes, directs, produces and runs activist projects
She recently co-wrote and directed the devised musical Mary Mary Quite Contrary (The Cockpit), and was Associate Director of Award-winning Funeral Flowers (The Bunker, Bernie Grant Arts Centre). She co-founded Brainstorm to investigate masculinity and mental health through visual and performing art, with multi-disciplinary events at the V&A and Copeland Galleries. She runs immersive, interactive events and workshops, recently collaborating on All Rise a two-day mock-trial and citizens assembly at Tate Modern, and currently curating a series on Climate and Conflict with Its Freezing in LA. She has spoken on The Guilty Feminist and other platforms, and written articles for i-D, Arteviste, Hero, SAVAGE Journal and others.

She is Artistic Director of Fringe First Award-winning activist theatre company, Power Play C.I.C, who create immersive, site-specific platforms for female-identifying theatre-makers, launching with four new plays in a domestic flat that told stories of ‘rich unsettling drama’ (The Scotsman). They brought Filipa Bragança Award-winning Funeral Flowers on a London tour, to four and five star reviews (A Younger Theatre; The Stage). Power Play also collect and broadcast data on gender imbalances in the arts, speaking on The Guilty Feminist and other platforms, and launching their world-first study into gender in fringe theatre in 2019.
